The challenge: Create a Fawn, Ogre, Pixie, Troll, and Witch, from an original fantasy world.
My concept:
In the world before humans, animals had human-like characteristics; intelligence, standing, etc. The gods decided to take those powers away and create humans. The humans eventually learned of these prior animals and thought of them as "mythical creatures". But before the gods could extract this power, the animals waged a war against them to protect their intelligence and right to rule over Earth.
I wanted to use different members of the animal kingdom for each character, so I used reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, and mammals. Couldn't work fish in there.
The Fawn: The hunter and warrior who is very proud of his tribe and will defend them at any cost.
The Ogre:The brute force of the team; he may not be the brains, but sure is the brawn.
The Pixie: the messenger of the group, she brings news as quickly as her wings can carry her.
The Troll: Amphibious because he lives underneath bridges, he is as tricky and untrustworthy as he is slimy.
The Witch: The witch doctor is a mysterious woman shrouded in dark magic and deep secrets.
