Twisted Trees, 7.4

So both Seth and I are members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club and will be away at our camp to practice so we are going to miss this week's show as it airs live! However, we wanted to get you our sketches so we are tweeting you from the bus to the camp site.

The challenge: Create a tree-being that suffers from a common malady of that tree species

Our concepts: The tree challenge was interesting, and both of us were immediately drawn to our own species of trees: myself to the willow and Seth to the bristlecone pine. My character was infected by pests who feed on her; these parasites are slowly destroying her body and using her as a home (you can see their trails under her bark). She sobs all day long in the forest as she feels these little insects take over her body.
Seth's character is more of a forest guardian that was struck by lightning; his shoulder is cracked and he even has parts of his body that are on fire and charred from the strike! These wounds only harden his body though as he stays resilient to protect his fellow trees.

As always, feedback is welcome! We love getting comments and even critiques on our work.
We won't be live tweeting this week, but look for us on Twitter @RyTy18 and @seth842. Give us a shout out and a RT to share with your friends!
